Southern Regional Education Board's Academic Common Market

For students interested in majors not available in their home state, this program enables them to apply for in-state tuition rates while pursuing their degree at an out-of-state institution. This agreement applies to most public universities in the 16 SREB states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

The Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship Program

The Tennessee Assistance Award Program (TSAA)

Funds are awarded on a first come, first served basis. To be eligible, the applicant must complete the FAFSA, be a Tennessee Resident, and have a valid Expected Family Contribution of $2100 or less. Because funds are limited, interested students are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible after January 1.

For the tenth consecutive year, SunTrust is pleased to offer the Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes where students can win a $500 scholarship for education expenses at a 2 or 4 year public or private college/university located in the U.S.

 

What: A total of 30 individual $500 scholarships will be awarded for education expenses. Two winners will be randomly chosen every two weeks throughout the sweepstakes period.
Who: Entrants can be either:
  • High school seniors planning to attend college in the fall of 2015, or
  • Current college students continuing undergraduate studies in the fall of 2015
When: Two winners are chosen every two weeks from Oct. 31, 2014 - May 15, 2015

SIMPLY SMART applications are available in your guidance office. Students should complete the application and return it to their school counselor along with required documents as indicated on the application.

Students must be graduating from an eligible public high school with a 2.5 GPA, receiving a diploma with your regular class at the conclusion of the regular school term and accepted to an accredited in-state or out-of-state two or four-year college or university, trade school, or continuing education program.

A student whose character exemplifies an eagerness to learn with the ability to face challenges and the courage to do the right thing.

FINANCIAL NEED
A student in which the SIMPLY SMART Scholarship will make a difference in their ability to further their education.

FIRE Free Speech Essay Contest

High school juniors and seniors for the 2014-2015 school year are eligible to apply. Must submit an 800-1000 word essay on the topic provided. One $10,000 and $5,000 and three $1000 scholarships will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Four $500 scholarships will be awarded randomly from remaining entrants.
