Bio

This is the start of my 13th year of teaching Science courses at Rockwood High School. I was born and raised in Roane County and attended Rockwood City Schools which later became the Roane County School System.

I graduated from Rockwood High School in 1974. I attended Roane State Community College before ftransferring to the University of Tennessee - Knoxville (UTK). I graduated from UTK in 1979 with a B.A. Liberal Arts (Major - Chemistry).

After graduation, I was accepted into the Radiological Laboratory Training Program (TVA) in 1980 where I spent two years learning the operation of a nuclear power plant along with the chemical/radiochemical requirements to successfully maintain the plant operational status.

In 1991, then accepted a job with IT Corporation (Oak Ridge) as a Radiological Quality Control Specialist before moving into the laboratory performing radiological analysis. Upon restructuring, i moved to Quanterra (formerly IT Corporation) as Quality Assurance/Data Production.

Following a reduction in force (1994), I returned to Tennessee Technological University - Cookeville (TTU) to obtain my M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction.

I am married with three children (Ethan, Laura, and Aaron) and one grandson (James).
